Risk Assessment of Household Gas Heaters in Tehran During an Earthquake Crisis by Using the Fuzzy FMEA Model

Background: A variety of gas heaters are used in residential, administrative, and commercial buildings Iran. Home packages (HP) central heating boiler rooms (CHBRs) among the most common types systems that can be damaged during earthquakes and, thus, harm building residents. Methods: By doing a survey an interview 50 residential District 16 Tehran, risks these facilities were assessed from viewpoint To do risk assessment, failure mode effects analysis (FMEA) model fuzzy space applied. analyze priority number (RPN), defuzzification center gravity method used. Based on results, 11 indicators identified evaluated for each system. Results: The mean RPNs obtained both almost equal (the difference was about 2%). Thus, no definitive superiority presumed HP or CHBR when happen. major system separately based conditions building, confidence quality installation, connections, pipe materials, electric wire corrosion, etc. Conclusion: It is suggested same, some issues such as design, economy, technical play greater role contractors’ selection
